About Trump Mobile

"Trump Mobile" is an MVNO. What is an MVNO? Mobile Virtual Network
Operator.

In reality, there are only three mobile networks in the U.S.: AT&T,
Verizon, and T-Mobile. All the others, Mint, Consumer Cellular, and
many more, now including "Trump Mobile" are MVNOs.

They do not have their own networks. They contract with one or more of
the Big Three named above for a certain amount of capacity on those
networks in terms of bandwidth, priority, and other factors. The Big
Three reserve the best quality factors for themselves, since hey, they
built and own their networks.

Trump's effort is a branding exercise, like his steaks, or putting the
name Trump on buildings he doesn't own. The fine print of their
announcement notes that service can be discontinued at any time, and
that, effectively, it's just a Trump brand being put on another MVNO
service.

Their announced "made in America" "T1"(?) phone (really? how do you
define "made"? I'd like to see where all those chips are coming from!)
looks bizarre and relatively feature-poor, especially for a $500
Android phone. And not refundable, either, apparently.

Overall, just another attempt at a cash grab from the gullible.
