Hello,
I am using the following command to create client queues to use SSL encrypted
basic authentication:
lpadmin -p <queue name> -E -P <PPD filename> -v '<server
name>:631/printers/<queue name>?encryption=always'
This appears to work well, but I have a problem and a question.
Problem: The first time I print using a queue set up in this way, no ID/password
prompt appears. I have to click on the printer icon in the system tray, and
click the "retry" button next to the print job in the resulting display of the
print queue. Subsequent printing attempts result in the ID/password prompt
appearing as expected.
Question: Is the lpadmin command above the optimal command to use?
Thanks,
-Rick
