Liputan6, Seram: Thousands of hectares of forest on the island of Seram, 
Central Maluku, dried up due to forest fires. Based on Forest Service data, 
more recently, at least 35 thousand hectares of forest in Seram has turned into 
the fields and plantations. Arson suspected perpetrators of that utilizes the 
plantation companies of local people.

Besides threatening ecosystems, forest fires are also invited widespread 
landslides and flooding hazards. Another impact is the extinction of bird
