I'm sorry but I fail to see the additional steps required to make this work:

0 > boot ud/disk@1:2,ofwboot /6.9/macppc/bsd.rd

can't OPEN: ud/disk@1:2,ofwboot
Can't open device or file
 ok

Could the root issue come instead from the USB drive ? Maybe my dd command
is faulty or I'm not using the right ISO file...
