Hey everyone, I noticed a strange issue with a PowerBook G4 (PowerMac5,8) and 5.3. When it boots the generic kernel (including bsd.rd) it will get to the line:
"timer" at macobio0 offset 0x15000 not... and then shutoff. I tried disabling a few different devices (macobio, macgpio, etc) without any luck. I finally booted it up in verbose mode and noticed immediately before the crash the kernel was probing ADB, after disabling that it boots just fine. So to boot the cd, I interrupted the boot> prompt with: /5.3/macppc/bsd.rd -c in the UKC> disable adb exit Hope that helps someone stuck in the same place, -John
