This is my Ibook:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/stats/ibook_500.html

My network doesn't need password to enter, the maximum that I should do is to insert the network ID. However, when the device begins to work, the system makes a "crash" in the moment of the configuration. When it doesn't happen when inserting the device...

As you have been able to download from CVS, one presumes that the iBook has
more than just
the USB WiFi to work with and/or you have at least one other machine to help as
'mothership'.
You are wrong! I had to use a CD-RW for to copy the files for my Ibook, because he doesn't possess access the any connection type.

But if 'GENERIC' (source) contained the configuration for the *specific*
device, you would not need to rebuild. Are you
looking just at config that supports an HBA (on bus or MB) Realtek - or the
USB/other 'attached' ones?
The standard kernel of OpenBSD 4.8/macppc, doesn't recognize the chipset RTL8187b as device of network "urtw*" and yes as "ugen*." The device doesn't serve me, if he is recognized as any generic USB device.

Do you have access - owned or borrowed - to any WiFi device that IS in the
GENERIC kernel?
And if so, does THAT one work?
I have another device, but it is of the same model.

See: http://www.openbsd.org/macppc.html 'Supported WiFi ...'
Usually that should be true, but if it went quite so, I would be never here. Which would the reason of the kernel be for macppc, not to already come prepared for that? Because only with chipset Realtek 8187B? Mr. Dale Rahn, maybe know how to answer.

Do you have some OTHER machine that has a working WiFi that can at least let
you know
what network(s) can be found, and whether you have an acceptable login?
Yes, and it is with Linux Fedora 13... I know everything about my network and this is not the problem here.

I only want to solve the problem of "Kernel Panic", that happens whenever I go connect in the port USB my network device WI-FI. I am not a programmer, I already used NetBSD but was in the x86 platform and me would like a lot to use OpenBSD in my Ibook.

The information that I mentioned, should be enough, especially because to know the data of my network it doesn't solve the "Kernel Panic."

In short:
Because when me go to connect my device USB in my Ibook, does my system make a crash? Did I make the procedure as described in this list and me added the line corresponding to the device, then because it doesn't work?

If somebody can help me, I a lot will be thankful.
