Go ahead and install 2.11.1.  Postfix 2.12 will not be released
before early 2015.

You mean dynamically loaded database plugins?  These are mostly
for the convenience of operating system release engineering teams.
To allow them to make the various Postfix back-end databases separate
modules.  Thereby, for example, allowing some users to use Postgres
tables, without forcing everyone to install the Postgres runtime
libraries.

For people who build their own Postfix from source, dynamically
loadable databases are not a compelling feature.
