surely

you say explicit "accept messages for A and forward them to B"
postffix is not interested at this moment if B exists and if
someone configures it this way it's a config mistake
B could also be an external address

if the domains are all on your site consider sql tables for
configuration and a smart backend not allowing to specify
a non-existing forwarder-target or remove it if it is used
as target or at least remove the forwarder record automatically
at the same time
