Because Postfix does not explicitly support the original, long expired, nullmx draft. The draft was revived this July with an 01 version, and will expire again in January 2014. Don't know whether it is likely to gain more traction at the IETF this time around. However, despite the generic malformed MX hostname message, Postfix effectively supports the draft, by rejecting domains with null MX RRs when via reject_unknown_sender_domain. -- Viktor.
