If you feel you are a newbie, then go for dovecot. dbmail is not widely used. (please understand that this isn't the right place to compare them, because this could result in a long mypopisrich thread that is totally unrelated to postfix). dovecot shouldn't be hard to setup. it has a mailing-list if you have questions, problems, ...
