The approach was like going to a doctor with your diagnosis already
done, and without allowing the doctor to do any first-hand examination.

The focus of a problem report should be on the evidence itself:
the input and output activity of the shell script, plus some
narrative to explain what the roles of the different players are.
Instead, the focus was on the INTERPRETATION, and no evidence was
given of the actual input and output activity.
