Essas mensagens são trocadas entre MTAs. Só quem as lê, são administradores de serviços de e-mail. Não vejo grandes vantagens em modifica-las.
As bounce faz mais sentido, porque voltam como mensagem para o cliente. E ainda sim, é aconselhavel que adicione a tradução ao invés de substituir a mensagem original.
