O QGIS neste casos "reage" da forma como estiver configurado em "options
-> general -> crs", ma no final das contas é preciso conhecer de alguma
forma o sistema de coordenadas original.
Neste caso é presente um ficheiro .xml de metadados (que no QGIS se pode
ler com o tool "metatools) ma não parece ter muita informação util...
