ok, i have found
$ R CMD INSTALL --help
--configure-args=ARGS
set arguments for the configure scripts (if any)
--configure-vars=VARS
set variables for the configure scripts (if any)
and that could solve some of the issues,
if patching is not needed...
so hooray, rJava is a go...
now the rest...
