I can't create a package from postfix (it never worked since at least 2

on OpenBSD, "make install" from ports always builds a package first,
then installs it with pkg_add. look in /usr/ports/packages/`arch -s`/all

I know but I would like to be able to create a package on my own when
necessary. With all other packages it works fine, but not for postfix.

`make package`. That is future-proof.

I need to create packages from installed packages, not from ports. I have one master package server that compiles the ports and creates packages. If I want to re-create all installed packages for whatever reason, getting a list of paths for all installed packages, then run through those ports and do a 'make package' is quite extensive.
