Hi all,

For your enjoyment the attached port installs a tool I wrote for browsing the sqlports database.

This is a ruby cgi script. It requires mod_ruby and ruby-sqlite3. This cgi script runs under an unchrooted httpd.

After install, you can use it by browsing to

http://localhost/cgi-bin/portsview

You can do keyword searching, searching by port category, name and flavor, and navigation by category; the program hyperlinks between port definitions so its easy to move from port to dependencies.

During installation the tool adds some tables to a copy of sqlports the enable a quick check for system and X libs. It also provides hyperlinking to bsd.port.mk definitions for the myriad of Makefile parameters.

Screen shots (of course) at

Regards,
Fred
