I did look at them. Quite some other ports fail, too, during make
package if they are already installed. That is not considered an error,
it's fine.

That NO_SYSTRACE is needed is a show-stopper. Please find out what the
issues are and fix them.
I do not know what the problem is. It appears to be a bug in systrace.
I was told to use NO_SYSTRACE until the cause was known. The lilypond
port suffers from the same bug.

Sometimes the port will install just fine, others systrace will cut it
short. It is erratic and usually kills a different part of fmtutil-sys
each time (during make fake).
I am quite confident that the port sticks within it's sandbox.
