Hi,
Yes, only main branch and current quarterly branch are maintained.
What you see as "Active" on github is just something github made up about what
"active" means.
"Active branches: The Active view shows all branches (excluding the default branch)
that anyone has committed to within the last three months, ordered by the branches with the
most recent commits first." ->
https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/configuring-branches-and-merges-in-your-repository/managing-branches-in-your-repository/viewing-branches-in-your-repository
NB: the current quarterly branch gets a bit more than only security updates,
also like stability fixes.
Regards,
Ronald.

Onderwerp: Re: maintained ports tree branches
Thank you. I had a look at Handbook and
at https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-ports/branches but since Github is just a
mirror I wanted to clarify this, as there are last 2 quarters there as active.
So the way I read the docs, only main branch and current quarter branch
are maintained. The latter of course only in respect to security
updates.
Thanks,
Piotr
