As nobody answered you can assume you are the only one working on this.

Just add a patch to the issue and mention that you want to become the
maintainer. Might be helpful to send another mail to the list to
attract some attention to the issue from a committer.

yes, I'm currently working on this and I hope that I'm half way through
it. However the amount of work that is required to build a complete port
is a bit more than simply changing the download links from the older
versions. Therefore, this will take some more time and I hope for your
patience.
