Thanks for your offer. The usual way to request a port maintenership
is to open a bug report on FreeBSD bugzilla[1] and attach a patch with
the changes (in this case the maintainers email).
Also, the Porter Handbook{2] describe all the aspects of maintain a port,
don't hesitate to take a look.
