Hi guys, I'm new to pmacct, and everything seems to appear great.
I deploy software firewalls / routers that speak BGP to multiple upstreams (for redundancy purposes) for clients, and was wondering that if I used pmacct to export flow data off these machines to the clients' flow collectors -- would I see any impact on performance?
They're usually not very busy machines, and have plenty of cycles available to dedicate to pmacct if need be -- but my main concern is if the router gets flooded by bogus traffic (typical DDoS), does pmacct have any negative impact on ip forwarding at those moments of high PPS? How does the polling from interfaces work, exactly? Is it libpcap based?
I apologize if this question has been asked before on the list, I took a look and couldn't manage to find anything similar.
