Hello,
I have a requirement to count clients traffic passing through our border
router by classes, e.g. local (iBGP), national (BGP marked with specific
community) and international (anything not covered by local/national),
after a bit of research I found pmacct/nfacct and from what I can tell
it looks like it can do what I want.
Before I commit the time to learning nfacct in detail, can an expert
please confirm for me that nfacct can:
Have aggregation periods per client IP of 1 Hour, 1 Day and 1 Month
(1st day to last day)
Use match filters similar to:
Loc_Up Matched by DST IP is within a specific BGP community
Loc_Down Matched by SRC IP is within a specific BGP community
Nat_Up Matched by DST IP is within a specific BGP community
Nat_Down Matched by SRC IP is within a specific BGP community
Int_Up Matched by DST IP is NOT caught by the above matchers
e.g. remainder
Int_Down Matched by SRC IP is NOT caught by the above matchers
e.g. remainder
Also, are there any consultants on using nfacct for ISP billing systems ?
Thank you,
Andrew Thrift
