I see it kind of over-engineered approach: the satellites would be
useful if they could do something more than just forwarding things
back and forth (ie. caching? But this is something you don't want
in our scenario). Otherwise, why not implementing sockets straight
in the client? Plus, it means more work for you.

No. Good documentation can do it, just explain it is meant to work
in secure or management networks. Suggesting OpenVPN or whatever is
fine.

Not really. I'm not a super-expert of licensing matters; but will
fall-back to my personal "licensing consultant" and will let you
know.

Nothing (hopefully) gets lost. I have 3 patches from you to get 
through. 

One more thing: as it's now matter of discussing implementation
details and we seem to be the only two involved in it, what do you
think of continue the discussion privately? With only relevant
updates of general interest posted to the list?
