Since I installed a fresh operating system (xubuntu 16.04) and
reinstalled LMS and local player, I couldn't get it to run - it was
always 'not running'. The log was unhelpful, just having a start line
and no more. I wasn't too bothered since I could run squeezelite
separately (and stop/start it using commands I registered in the 'server
power control' plugin). But it niggled.

I have found out why it didn't run. I had a space in the command line,
ie ' -o hw.....' rather than '-o hw...'. I kid you not.

Secondly, once running it didn't find LMS. I had to explicitly add '-s
localhost:3483' to the command line. I don't know why.

If you still have problems, on the 'local player' screen, you may wish
to look at the bottom line, and check that the other libraries are
installed (I'd previously forgotten that this was needed for local
player since I'd already done it for stand-alone squeezelite).
