Hopefully someone can help me with this.

After reinstalling LMS 7.9 and Triode's Spotify app, I couldn't get it
working. The Self Test reported my password was good, but failed with
both "Failed to Receive Metadata" and "Streaming from Spotify Failed".
And attempting to play Spotify on my Squeezebox Radio gave the error of
"invalid username or password".

Here are the Self Test results (see image below):
    
- Help App Running: PASS
- Logged In: PASS
- Failed to Receive Metadata: FAIL
- Streaming from Spotify Failed: FAIL
  

To diagnose the problem and try to get it working I tried the
following:
    
- Use the official Spotify app on MySqueezebox.com from my Squeezebox
  Radio. This gave the same "invalid username or password" error.
- Enter a purposefully bad username or password. This cause the
  "Logged In" test to fail, so that proved I was using the right
  username and password. (I re-entered the right username and password
  before trying anything else.)
- Compare the Spotify cache directory structure and settings files
  with a copy I took from the working installation before I reinstalled
- nothing different that looked important.
- Completely uninstall and reinstall Triode's Spotify plugin several
  times.
- Restart LMS several times through SSOTS.
- Re-enter the password several times
- Replace the Spotify cache and settings with the ones from my old
  working installation. I shutdown LMS before doing this, but still
  nothing worked after restarting. (I shutdown LMS and restored the new
  files before trying anything else.)
- Uninstall and reinstall not only Triode's Spotify plugins, but the
  official one too.
- Another complete uninstall and reinstall of both plugins, but this
  time deleting the entire cache directory structure and preferences
  files after uninstalling to force it to start afresh.
- As a last resort, I changed my password on the Spotify web-page and
  used that one instead.
  

After all the above fiddling, I can now play music through Triode's
Spotify app :D However the Self Test still no longer works (with the
same output as before) :( My suspicion is that the password change did
the trick, but because the Self Test is still failing and I didn't try
actually playing Spotify after every step I can't be absolutely sure.

I've attached my LMS and spotify logs (from the current state where
playing works but the Self Test fails). Is there anything in there to
worry about? eg:
    
- Spotify error, code 6: Spotify login failed: Bad username and/or
  password
- spotifydnoflac: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.17' not found
  (required by
  
/opt/ssods4/var/home/SqueezeboxServer/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/i386-linux/spotifydnoflac)
- spotifydnoflac: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found

- Unable to login offline: no such user
- Unable to save file: offline.bnk
  

So I don't have to go through all of this next time I reinstall, does
anyone have any ideas what the problem is? And does anyone know why the
Self Test still fails, but I can play music?

As background:
    
- I'm running v2.3.9 of Triode's Spotify plugin on LMS 7.9.
- This is executing on QNAP 469L hardware running firmware 4.2.0 Build
  20160101.
- The reason I reinstalled LMS and the Spotify plugin was I had to
  completely reinstall my QNAP because I wanted up upgrade my "legacy"
  volume to a "Storage Pool", and that requires a complete rebuild of
  QTS.
- I reinstalled LMS using the instructions at h t t

- I installed Triode's Spotify plugin from the Third Party Plugins
  section. (I also tried the one from h t t

  difference.)
- When setting my password in Triode's Spotify settings, I hit Apply
  before trying the Self Test each time.
- It's definitely the Triode app that I'm using - the one with the
  orange logo that says "Core Spotify".
