Ok I have ordered a CCA. I will collect it from Curry's (£25) later. I don't need it but I am intrigued as to how well it will work.
I have - as Phillipe knows - played around a fair bit with upnpBridge and I think it is fair to say that I have it working pretty well with my Onkyo CRN 755 but not well enough to make it a serious replacement for a physical SB or a Pi Dac+. It seems to me that since this is aimed at one piece of hardware only it stands far more of a chance of going mainstream in our world given Phillipe's continuing efforts in this regard. Getting uPnP devices generally to work properly seems to me a never ending uphill task as new renderers come to the market each one has its own interpretation of what the DLNA/uPnP folks laughingly call the "standard". Will someone who has a CCA working tell me whether they think it is worthwhile going optical as opposed to using the onboard DAC and the analogue out ? *Vortexbox LMS 7.8 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B&W P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes ------------------------------------------------------------------------ d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614
