The alpha plugin does not seem to have caused many people serious
problems, compared to having nothing at all! Try it and see.
You could also update the BBC iPlayer Extras plugin. This gives
reliable access to Listen Again for 30 days in good quality. Add this
to the plugin repositories:

Meridian USB Explorer DAC to speakers/phones. Wireless Xubuntu 14.04
laptop with firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with
Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. Have a Touch
with EDO, and a spare, but don't use.
