So what's the point in supplying high-quality AAC streams to those devices, which can't take advantage of the superior sound, and leave most hi-fi streamers (which are designed for that very purpose) with poor quality unreliable MP3 streams (Shoutcast Radio 3 AAC reprieve excepted)? It doesn't make any sense. I wonder if it's a cunning plan to try to force more people over to DAB. Although I think this fiasco will damage public confidence in internet and digital radio in general. FM looks even more attractive now.
