Just to follow this up - I have things working on my Synology Diskstation now. I had to install a different version of ffmpeg, which I did by using the script and instructions provided by CutepoisonX http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=89787 It was fairly straight forward, with one gotcha - the instructions refer to editing a .profile file if you are running DSM V4. I'm on DSM V5 so I skipped it, but I think it means if you are on DSM V4 *or higher* Please note, once the script starts building ffmpeg it can take a long time to complete : several hours in fact. I went to bed and left it running, but came down this morning and pressed play on the RADIO4FM test stream and it worked first time - didn't even restart the Synology or LMS. I don't know where original version of ffmpeg came from on my Synology. >From what I've read, I believe it was installed with LMS (or maybe Plex - which I also have installed) I seem to recall it was version 2.2 or 2.02 or similar - I did not make a note (sorry) Here's the output from ffmpeg now : diskstation> ffmpeg -version ffmpeg version n-69908-g41572ac copyright (c) 2000-2015 the ffmpeg developers built with gcc 4.2.3 (gcc) configuration: --enable-shared --enable-gpl --enable-memalign-hack --enable-version3 --enable-nonfree --disable-armv6 --disable-armv6t2 --disable-ffplay --disable-ffserver --prefix=/opt --disable-neon --disable-asm --enable-avcodec --arch=arm --cpu=armv5te --enable-pthreads --disable-decoder=zmbv --target-os=linux --enable-armv5te --enable-libx264 --enable-libfaac libavutil 54. 18.100 / 54. 18.100 libavcodec 56. 22.100 / 56. 22.100 libavformat 56. 22.100 / 56. 22.100 libavdevice 56. 4.100 / 56. 4.100 libavfilter 5. 11.100 / 5. 11.100 libswscale 3. 1.101 / 3. 1.101 libswresample 1. 1.100 / 1. 1.100 libpostproc 53. 3.100 / 53. 3.100 When streaming, the ffmpeg process takes about 20-30% CPU One final point - I have not updated the iplayer menus yet - I'm just using the 'tune in URL' box to test playback. I've tried with the Radio 4 and 6 Music feeds.I don't foresee any problems updating the menus (hopefully !) Many thanks to CutepoisonX for the ffmpeg script, bpa for the plugin ------------------------------------------------------------------------ phineas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41042 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103158 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
