OK, I've managed to install the new version. I played http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_four_extra.m3u8 and this time it said "Connecting..." and then the clock kept running but no sound was heard.
