As far as I know SugarCube still works in this way. In the early days
the algorithm wasn't as solid as it is now, so I'd use the built-in
MusicIP mixing function to generate a basic seed mix, after which
SugarCube took over, mixing in a new track each time upon playing a
track of the seed mix. Now I just use the random music function, set to
give me 1 track, and I let Sugarcube handle it from there. It's quite
often that I don't need to "shake out" a new seed track for days on
end.
I've never seen behaviour like what Morbeas is experiencing. The only
"glitch" I have is the existence of the nearly identical tracks on
several different albums (initial studio album, various artists
compilation, artist compilation, live album) that sometimes get played
with for instance just one song between them, sometimes even jumping
back & forth, but that doesn't disturb me enough to bother CParker with
it.
Given that Morbeas seems to have this issue solely with Metallica-based
mixes, I'd suggest that he re-rip his albums and analyse them all over
again. I'd even be willing to put my files on dropbox or some other
service for him to try out in his system.
