OK, after several restart, I eventually got this [11-09-16 10:19:53.4835] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::extract (81) unable to install SocialMusicDiscovery - /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/DownloadedPlugins/SocialMusicDiscovery.zip does not exist
I changed the SocialMusicDiscovery.zip to 777 and restarted. Now, SocialMusicDiscovery.zip is gone, I still don't see the plugin on the 'plugin' page.
