I was having this issue as well & I think I may have solved the problem. Try the following & let me know if this works for you:
Download & run Softsqueeze following the directions on this page: http://softsqueeze.sourceforge.net/download.html. You'll want to double-click on the Softsqueeze.jar file to load it. Make sure it's running & not playing any music before you try any of the following. Next, go to Squeezecenter Settings -> Players and select Softsqueeze as the player you want to work with. Next, select Basic Settings if it's not already selected. Scroll down & find the settings for Screensaver when playing, Screensaver when stopped & Screensaver when off. Change all these to SuperDateTime Screensaver. Go back to Softsqueeze & wait until the weather information displays on Softsqueeze. Bring SuperDateTime up on your duet controller & see if the information isn't there.
