Sune,

No problem, but I guessed something like that.
It happens to people that are more familiar with SqueezeCenter than
iPod/iPhone that they have a different understanding of the UI concept.
As is written in the first chapter of the manual... (sorry for the pun)
I generally let the iPod UI styleguide have preference over SC's since
as soon as you know the iPod/iPhone it get's really confusing if
similar things on the same device work in a different way. Also I think
most of the iPhone UI rules are pretty well though out for that
particular device, that happens to be different from a PC screen. Of
course there's exceptions, like the playlist centric playback that is
being kept from SC (I HATE the Album centric approach in iTunes/iPod,
still confuses me).
But the general concept of having large controls, being able to click
the whole row and everything makes working on the small device quite a
lot easier, I dropped the Songinfo on purpose, it once was in iPeng,
too, but it didn't make sense that way.
BTW, found an error on the course of the discussion, directly playing
all tracks from "Search" doesn't work, only the "+" is available there.
Will fix that.

Erland,

regarding available options/settings in iPeng: I find it quite useful,
to have a standard set of functionality that is optimized to a certain
UI concept so it is easy to learn and understand while you can have all
flexibility for more advanced needs through CustomBrowse. I don't see a
reason to duplicate that functionality in the native code. One thing I
could think about, is to replace the "Browse More" Menu with the
"CustomBrowse" Menu on the Start screen if CB is installed. Now that
scrolling on the main menu pages is possible that should be easy.
