This would bee confirming but I think what is happening is Favorites is saving a menu item as an URL but not all BBC URLs are playable or OPML - they need a special parser and this parameter is being lost or perhaps it doesn't work when URL is played outside of AlienBBC menu.
I don't think all the functionality you want can be provided but perhaps some of it could be.
