That explains it.
I do use your iPlayer plugin - but almost exclusively for BBC R4 so very
few programmes with real tracks so I expect I did not notice.

I do it a different way in my plugins.
I put the aritst/title/cover/duration information in the matching LMS
fields for a track and then switch to the programme info when a track
finishes (typically around 30 seconds after) ... assuming timing details
are known.
However, my plugins cannot rewind etc.

I think I suggested long ago that an LMS update to handle programme
fields as attributes in a similar way to artist ones (including with a
slimproto extension) would be great because then players, and Jivelite
in particular, could be updated to have them as discrete displayable
fields.
Since Jivelite has plenty of space for extra text it would mean that the
programme details could always be visible (and user could potentially
choose to show it or not).
For displays that LMS controls - then the fields could be available like
they are now - so the user could choose the layout of what is sent.
