Static version are to be used in last resort. Now, the new builds are normally able to run of OS that are around 6-8 years old. If it tells your kernel is too old, I very strongly advise that you consider an upgrade. Beyond the use of my plugins that will move to these new version in the coming weeks, itÂ’s not good from a security point of view to stay with very old systems.
