Version 4.5 of the plugin is now available. It contains the following
fixes and enhancements:
- Add full support for Marantz AVRs, including Smart Select commands,
Marantz's version of Quick Select. For now, a new setup menu option
must be selected to support Marantz AVRs. In the future, this support
may be automated using the newly-discovered 'SYMO' command (see
below).
- Add the ability to update any of the AVR's defined Quick Select
commands using the plugin's audio settings menu, available when using
the Squeezer (Android) or iPeng (iOS) client apps.
- Query the AVR for it's make and model using the undocumented 'SYMO'
command and display the returned string in the debug log and in the
audio settings menu for iPeng and Squeezer clients, along with the IP
Address and zone.
I encourage those of you with Android or iOS devices to make use of the
plugin's audio settings menu, available in Squeezer and iPeng, which was
introduced last year and has recently been greatly enhanced in terms of
functionality. Future plans include adding the ability to display and
switch AVR inputs. See the screenshots below for the top-level menu in
both client apps. All of the settings shown in the submenus can be
displayed and updated directly from the client app, through the plugin
menu, greatly reducing, if not eliminating, the need for using the AVR
remote. Squeezer is not only free, it is one of the most full-featured
and actively updated and supported LMS client apps you will find. I use
it almost exclusively. IPeng is also widely used and has very loyal
users, but I am not an Apple guy and so can't vouch for it directly.
Anyway, have fun and, for those using the audio menu with Squeezer or
iPeng, please post screenshots of the menu showing your AVR model info.
I am especially interested in what is displayed for Marantz AVRs.
