Hmm, so I've just taken apart the BZ2 which contains all the files that the lms_installer installs and there is no sign of Spotty in there at all. I'm convinced this is where my current LMS came from, but clearly I got the Spotty helper binary from somewhere else. Spotty itself automatically updates from your repo. So it is just the helper binary I'm confused about.
