I just re-read the message about perl version (5.30.2) returned at
Terminal when I typed "perl -v". But the Information page at LMS on my
browser says
"Perl Version: 5.18.4 - darwin-thread-multi-2level"
That's correct: macOS comes with multiple versions of Perl
pre-installed. We're currently sticking with 5.18 for backwards
compatibility (it exists way back many versions of macOS) and simplicity
reasons.
