Mystery (sort of) solved. After detailed comparison of the settings amongst the various upnp players in my home, I finally found one thing that made the difference, which is setting the flac header to blank. DOP setting is kept on. Now, playing DSD64 would be DSD64, and DSD128 would be played as 17624. No idea why it is working like that, but am happy that it's back to what it used to be.
