Google became a lot stricter with what apps can be used with Android Auto some time last year. Squeeze Ctrl doesn't fit into any of the categories that are allowed so they actually removed Android Auto support on the existing app in the Play store and I had to remove any declaration of Android Auto support in the app package if I want to update the app.
