I found a similar solution: I first tried uninstalling Orange Squeeze and keeping Squeeze Player hoping it would let me control Material apk from my bluetooth headphones, but no, it didn't work. Then I installed Orange Squeeze once again. And if I start Orange (which also starts Squeeze Player), and then starts Material apk, I can control it with my headphones. It's obviously not as seamless as just starting Orange Squeeze and press play.
