The 1.8 version is the one that is installed by the Add/Remove Software
tool in RaspbianOS. Also the version that is fetched using "apt-get"
which I presume is the engine for the GUI tool.

I had tried downloading and running the most recent build from the
Sourceforge repository a couple of days ago but that just led to some
other problems.

After alternating through a start/stop cycle with the systemd control of
squeezelite and command line, the MAC address started appearing
correctly. I'm assuming there was some kind of caching in the LMS
database.

In any case, I'm going to give the tutorial by *Man in a van* (ronnie) a
crack tomorrow with a fresh install. Will report back.

Thanks for the feedback.
