In answer to your last point, yes - I want to see everything any single album artist/artist/band etc has been involved in. I usually know who else was involved by knowing the album. I'm quite happy without any joint names - I don't see the need, and in fact would find it confusing. The individual ones get me to the albums just as well. If I was really possessed about it I would put it in the album title. I am not, and never have been, too concerned about the 'official' title of anything or the way suppliers or even artists define things. So for instance I usually change the album title on classical stuff so that it is consistent. Two recordings of a work need to have a very similar title so I can find and compare them by title, eg "Beethoven - Symphony No. 9 - fred", and "...- joe" and so on where fred and joe are the conductors. I don't care what EMI, Sony and the rest think. To me, the indexing for my convenience is the only thing that matters. We just think differently.
