Well both my SB Classic and Transporter are having the same issues with Spotify continually dropping out. No buffering notice. Not sure what's going on they used to play with out issues.
Did you check your server.log or the Spotty settings? Are there hints about "status 429"? If so, follow the instructions on the Spotty settings page about how to get your own Client ID from Spotify.
