Have you tried re-installing GRUB after Daphile has been installed (boot with some other distro, mount usb, bind mount /dev,/proc,/sys, chroot into Daphile, check /etc/default/grub, run grub-install and grub-mkconfig) ? At least, you'll be able to see if GRUB complains about something. Also, have a look at 'this site' (https://www.supergrubdisk.org/) which has some interesting tools to fix various boot issues.
