I have a theory but not able to test at present.
After ripping Crossroads 2 I did a clear & rescan
I later added Complete Clapton but did a check for new scan.
Are your examples likely to be similar?
I.e. the clear & rescan code picks up the composer as artist_id but the
check for new doesnt.
Can you test?
