I don't know Plex at all, but it might very well be that Plex is preventing any other application to broadcast/receive mDNS information. I've already seen that with another one (can't remember which one) which grabs port 5353 and does not nicely allow other to share & forward it - special parameter was needed to allow it to co-exist with others. Normally, Shairtunes & AirPlay Bridge do play nice there. I'd suggest you look around Plex options around these topics of mDNS, Bonjour, Avahi or anything along these lines LMS 7.7, 7.8 and 7.9 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2.
