I too am a happy user of Spotty on the Max2play software, which is a LMS
(Squeezelite) box running on a Raspberry Pi 3. I can't authorize either,
or log in with user/password. Kinda stumped, since I don't have any AV
software either, apart from the one built into W10 natively. I haven't
really dug any deeper than that.
You should :-). Check your server.log file. And would you happen to be
using some special character in your password? This has proven to be a
problem in some cases.
